Carne Guisada

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- Top sirloin steak
- 1 packet sazon with achiote
- 1 packet sazon without annatto
- 1 teaspoon adobo
- Water
- 1/4 can of goya tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon sofito
- 1/4 cup of oil
- 2-3 goya hot pickled peppers, with a dash of the juice
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
Instructions
- 1 Slice your steak into thin strips.
- 2 Add both sazons, adobo, goya peppers & vinegar to season the meat.
- 3 Heat oil in a pot & add sugar.
- 4 Once the sugar turns a dark brown in the pan. You want the sugar to almost looks black. Add your meat and fry. *Warning, oil will pop up*
- 5 After frying the meat, add just enough water to cover the meat.
- 6 Cover & let boil for about 20 - 30 minutes on medium to low heat, ensuring the water does not completely evaporate.
- 7 Once meat is tender, add tomato sauce & sofrito and let sauce thicken a bit on medium heat.
