Beef Empanadas


4.5 pound of ground beef
1/4 of a green pepper, diced small
1/4 of a red pepper, diced small
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 of a onion, diced small
1 can of tomato sauce
2 packets of sazon with achiote
2 packets of sazon without achiote
2 teaspoons of garlic powder
2 teaspoons of onion powder
2 teaspoon of adobo
1 pound of cheese
goya empanada dough, 5" discs


1 Brown ground beef until fully cooked, drain and set aside
2 Add onion, garlic and both peppers to pan on high flame until translucent
3 Add beef back to pan, add tomato sauce and all spices and cook until well combined
4 Let filling cool
5 place a disc and place some cheese, 1 tablespoon of meat filling and fold in half.
6 take a fork and press dough together until closed
7 fry in deep oil until golden brown
